AISD honors VISA volunteers, community members

Aldine ISD held a reception on Tuesday, May 5, to honor its many VISA (Volunteers In the Schools of Aldine) volunteers. Pictured are four of the five VISA volunteers who were singled out for having accumulated more than 10,000 hours of volunteer service over the years in the district. Pictured, (left to right): Tommye Newman (16,000 hours), Kenneth Scheier (16,999 hours), Cheryl Knighton (16,999 hours) and Katherine Mason (18,947 hours). Not pictured, DeAnn Crumbley (10,657 hours).
The district also honored four community members who have dedicated their time to various endeavors in the district over the years.
