Aldine Y.O.U.T.H 's School of Business is an intern program designed to give teens (ages 14 – 17) the opportunity to develop business, financial, interpersonal, and job readiness skills to prepare them for the workforce and adulthood. The Renewed Blessings Resale Shop is the sit for interns to gain on-the-job training in areas such as customer service , inventory control, stocking, cashier skills, merchandising and more.
Students will learn:
Life Skills
Students will participate in fun activities geared towards all aspects of becoming an independent person such as developing good interpersonal skills, money management skills, teamwork and problem solving skills. Students will receive hands on training in Marketing.
Technological Skills
Students will learn basic transferable skills such as various computer applications and programs, technological support and learn how to operate business machines. Students will receive hands on training in Cashiering.
Business Environment Skills
Students will learn how to conduct themselves in a business like setting through business communication skills, business English, organization skills and accounting principles. Students will receive hands on training in Customer Relations and Proper Phone Etiquette.
Career Readiness Skills
Students will learn all aspects of becoming ready for employment such as how to dress for success, resume writing, and interviewing skills. Students will also create a portfolio to present to future employers. Students will receive hands on training in Retail Principles.
